"The True Adventurer" Reflective Cat & Kitten Harness and Leash Set for Adventure Cats will have:
- A high-quality harness with adjustable straps, buckles, and velcro fasteners to ensure a snug and secure fit. There’s quite a bit of wiggle room to account for your cat’s growth, or potential weight loss or gain.
- A reflective strip on the harness, to help make your kitty more visible to others while outside.
- Two rings on the back of the harness to clip a leash onto, or attach to the inside of a cat backpack! ALL of our cat backpack styles include clips for harnesses, to prevent your cat from suddenly getting out.
- A matching 4 foot/120 cm leash, so you can start adventuring from day one (and look good doing it)!
Reminder: Never attach a leash to a cat’s collar! Cats have different anatomies from dogs, and it isn’t safe. The leash must be attached to a cat harness.

Measurement is done around your cat's chest. You want your cat's harness to be snug and fitted so they can't get out of it. When you take the measurement, make sure you're getting close and tight up against your cat -- down past all the floof!
If you're between sizes, go for the bigger size if your cat is still growing, or the smaller size if they are not.

i have 2 rescue cats with hyperthyroidism. They seem to have been inside/outside cats at one time, so they love going out. However, they are now inside cats. I bought 2 harnesses so I could give them the 'freedom' to go out but still be safe. One comes running to get his harness on while the other would prefer not having it on (to be fair, he's only used it 3-4 times) but once it's on, he waits by the door to go out. They have learned to explore together and enjoy their time outside. I highly recommend the True Adventure Harness and Leash set for cats that love being outside!
I got the Kitty Holster (also sold on the Jackson Galaxy website) when my cat was a kitten, but she outgrew it and I needed a bigger size. The Kitty Holster was sold out, so I got this one (“True Adventurer”) instead. I’m really glad I tried it! My cat has long hair and The Kitty Holster has a whole lot of velcro that you have to velcro under the belly. Her long hair would get stuck in the velcro and it seemed painful for her when we were taking off her harness (and could have been painful when wearing it too). “The True Adventurer” does not have as much velcro and it velcros at the back, so you can actually see what you’re doing. She hasn’t had any issue with getting her hair stuck in it. There’s also a buckle for extra security, just in case the velcro starts to give. So far it seems pretty secure—she’s wiggled backwards in it and not managed to get out, but we’ve only been using it for a couple of weeks. It's pretty easy to get the cat in her harness and she absolutely loves going outside! I would recommend getting a longer leash. The leash that comes with this is pretty short and I switched back to using the Lupine Pet Padded Handle Cat Leash, which I had gotten for the Kitty Holster. Overall, if you have a short-haired cat, you’d probably be fine with either harness, but I’ll be sticking with this one (The True Adventurer) for my long-haired cat!
Absolutely love this harness! It’s perfect in everywhere it should be. Allows you to tighten the straps from the chest to the neck portion. Allows my girl Spicy to explore and move to her hearts content. When the dog goes outside with her harness, so does Spice Mice. Training her to go on long trips and this harness is exactly what I was looking for and nostalgic as well. Spice gives a 9/10. 10/10 is saved for chicken. First 30 seconds in and she was rolling in dirt. Would definitely recommend!!
